The StateCover Seminar 2025 was held on Tuesday, 6 May and Wednesday, 7 May 2025 at Doltone House Hyde Park, Sydney. Focusing on connection, communication and leadership in the workplace, the program featured a variety of keynote speakers including Alison Hill, Avril Henry, Gus Worland, Dr Kirstin Ferguson, Simon Kuestenmacher, and Dr Simone Scovell.
Alongside these incredible speakers, there was a panel discussion on topics such as leadership in local government and how to use communication and connection to build a positive workplace culture. Members had the opportunity to join one of our return to work, safety, or wellbeing masterclasses.
Thank you to all who attended the 2025 StateCover Seminar and made it such a special event. We look forward to seeing even more of you at our next Seminar in 2027.
Masterclass Resources
The WWW of Wellbeing: Progressing the wellbeing strategy
In our wellbeing masterclass, we shared the Health and Wellbeing Survey, a tool that helps you to understand the health profile of your workforce, benchmarks your organisation against other StateCover Members, and gives you data to drive strategic wellbeing programs. We are in the process of following up with those who registered, but if you couldn’t join us and you’re interested in progressing your wellbeing strategy please contact memberservices@statecover.net.au.
Tech Savvy Safety: AI taking the heavy lifting out of HMT
Our safety masterclass explored risk management for hazardous manual tasks (HMTs). We were privileged to be joined by Terry Wong (Move 4 Life) during our safety masterclass, who showed us new AI technology that can help us identify hazardous actions and reduce the incidence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Some further resources for your organisation are linked below. StateCover’s HMT resources include: HMT program flyer, HMT model procedure, and toolbox talk templates (plant entry and exit, musculoskeletal disorders, hazardous manual tasks, office safety)
Move 4 Life: Visit move4life.com.au, or contact Terry Wong at terrywong@move4life.com.au or 0411 604 813. If you’re curious to see how Move 4 Life tech works, Terry has also generously provided a special offer of a free remote video risk assessment for eligible councils.
SafeWork NSW has great practical HMT resources and templates.
The RTW Roadmap: Navigating the twists and turns of RTW
Our return to work masterclass navigated the twists and turns of incapacity, regulators, doctors, careful planning, and collaboration to return injured workers safely and durably to meaningful work. Check out our Return to Work page and our new library of job demand analysis (JDA) templates for more resources and information.
