Award information

There are three award categories – Safety, Return to work and Wellbeing.

Winners will be announced and presented with their
award at the StateCover Seminar 2023 on Tuesday 2 May.

Winning submissions will be featured in StateCover communications including social media, website and other publications.

The success and impact of the winning submissions may be  shared with Members.

StateCover will require a brief about how winners are using their prize money.

Submissions

Choose a project, initiative or program that has already

Using the category template, address each of the criteria in writing. Please use a maximum of 1,000 words.

You are welcome to include attachments and supporting documents. These are not included in the word limit.

Process

1. Choose your category

Choose a project, initiative or program that has already been implemented within the last two years that fits into one of the following Award categories:

  1. Safety: best safety initiative e.g. procedure, program implementation over the past two years.
  2. Return to work: best strategy resulting in measurable return to work improvement over the past two years.
  3. Wellbeing: best strategic and integrated approach to  wellbeing over the past two years.

You are welcome to make more than one submission within and across categories.

 

 

2. Document your submission using the category template provided

Using the category template, address each of the criteria in writing. Please use a maximum of 1,000 words.

You are welcome to include attachments and supporting documents. These are not included in the word limit.

3. Submit your application

Submissions need to be made by 31 March, 2023 via email: sandw@statecover.net.au

 

4. Judging

Entries will be shortlisted by a panel consisting of a StateCover executive and representatives from our Safety & Wellbeing and Return to Work teams.

5. Winners notified

The winners of each category will be notified prior to the official announcement at the Seminar Dinner on Tuesday 2 May, 2023.

6. Winners ceremony: StateCover Mutual Seminar Dinner

The winners of each category will be officially presented with their award and celebrated at the StateCover Mutual Seminar Dinner on Tuesday 2 May, Doltone House Hyde Park, Sydney.

 

It was a wonderful night celebrating the StateCover Awards and the work of our Members. Congratulations to Cessnock, Singleton and Port Stephens for all the work they do to keep their people safe, well and working.

Who can enter?

The StateCover Awards are open to all Members to enter.

Why enter?

Recognition: receive acknowledgement for your commitment to and excellence in keeping your people safe, well and working.

Reputation: be recognised a Council who embraces innovative and strategic practices in safety, return to work and wellbeing.

Raise awareness: showcase and share your Council’s achievements.

Celebration: celebrate your success with colleagues and peers at a formal presentation.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for projects, initiatives of programs that:

  • have been implemented and completed within the last 2 years
  • demonstrate best practice, innovation, a strategic approach and impact

What does it cost to enter?

Entry is free.

What do I need to submit?

Each Award submission must include a completed category template, using a  maximum of 1,000 words.

Please note that there is a different template for each category.

When do the Awards submissions close?

Submissions are due 31 March 2023.

What is the word limit and is it flexible?

The word limit is 1000 words in total. Please do not go over the limit.

Supporting documentation does not count towards the word count.

How many winners are you choosing?

There will be one winner chosen from each of the three categories.

What do the winners receive?

The winners from each category will receive $5,000.

Is there a limit to the number of applications I can make?

There is no limit on the number of applications you can make within and across the categories.

What are my obligations if I win?

Winners will be asked to take part in the Awards ceremony on Tuesday 2 May as part of the StateCover Mutual Seminar 2023. This includes photos which will be used in our communications on and offline.

Winning submissions will be featured in StateCover communications including social media, website and other publications.

The success and impact of the winning submissions may be shared with Members.

StateCover will require a brief about how winners are using their prize money.

Winners will also be asked to participate in future Award ceremonies and communications.

Will these awards be on each year?

Yes they will be an annual event.
