Claims and Injury Management
StateCover provides a contemporary claims and injury management model designed to achieve optimum claim outcomes for all Members with:
- One point of contact for day to day case management assistance;
- Staff who understand the complexities of local government, overcoming barriers and seizing opportunities, to achieve results;
- A team of experts with diverse knowledge and skills - allied health, technical, HR and legal - committed to achieving results for our Members.
Responsibility for achieving optimum outcomes is shared jointly. Councils are responsible for developing their own Return to Work Program outlining Council policy and procedures that are to be followed in the event of a workplace injury. StateCover will work with Council to ensure their program is legislatively compliant, supports effective RTW and is consistent with StateCover’s Injury Management Program. Using this coordinated approach Member Councils can be confident their injured workers will receive prompt treatment and support throughout the return to work process.
Member Councils are strongly encouraged to report both incidents and claims via the StateCover on-line system. This ensures the prompt application of injury management practices to support an early return to work.
StateCover provides all Members access to the Claims Analysis and Tracking System (CATS) that allows Councils to access comprehensive data relating to all workers compensation claims lodged with StateCover.
